ROCKY MOUNTAIN ELK

PIEDRA VALLEY RANCH

This beautiful ranch is a gem in the midst of the San Juan mountains of S.W. Colorado.  With 12,000 private acres of private property overlooking majestic 13,000 foot Pagosa Peak, our hunters, for the past many years, have come as clients and left as friends!

Well over 50% of our hunters each year have hunted with us before, some of them for 10 and 12 years!  It's for this reason that we have never had to advertise with brochures, booths at hunting shows, etc.  Even this web site is the result of finally giving in to our many hunting friends, as much to keep in touch as for advertising purposes.

Although we provide free range hunting at it's best, some of the most experienced guides in the Elk hunting business will make sure you have the best possible hunting opportunity, and for many years we have had exceptional success rates.

You'll be staying in a comfortable mountain cabin, in the literal midst of elk herds and trout fishing, with the  comforts of home!   Sleeping in beds with sheets, enjoying hot showers, sitting around a roaring fire in the huge fireplace each evening, feasting on fabulous meals, cooked by professional cooks with 30+ years of experience.  Your family oriented staff enjoys serving you while you enjoy God's magnificent creation and grow closer to the Creator, while you pursue the majestic Rocky Mountain Elk.

There is also excellent fly fishing for brook, brown and rainbow trout in the lakes and streams on and around the ranch.

Guests are welcome for an additional fee and accommodations can be arranged for a private room for husband and wife.

TRAILS END RANCH

With access to over 10,000 acres of private property at the base of the majestic Sangre de Christo mountains, you will have quality opportunities to fill your tag(s).  Although there is no "guarantees" in free range hunting, our professional guides will provide you with the best possible opportunities and we have had an exceptional success rate in past years.

When your tag is filled you can fish one of the many private lakes for native brook trout and stocked rainbow trout.  You may also want to spend some time observing the Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep herds around the gorge of the nearby Arkansas River.

During your stay, you can also enjoy watching the family of mule deer around the ranch headquarters buildings, flushing a flock of wild turkeys in Spruce Creek, or catching a glimpse of a black bear feeding on the acorns in the oak brush near Lake Creek.

There's also opportunity to observe impressive antelope bucks defending their harems near the West Ranch and on the historic Beckwith Ranch.

If there is room on your hunt, guests are welcome for an additional fee.
